We follow two different approaches on migration to AWS.
We preferred completely new build of AWS infrastructure and VMs for migration of Apps/Servers from on-premise or from other cloud provider. This helps us optimize and automate the infrastructure more efficient way.
We migrate data with AWS data migration services or with traditional replication tools like ( rsync for Linux application data and robocopy for windows application data. We leverage Database export/import for database migration. Based on the data volume size different solution would be selected. We leverage lift and shift approach with tools like – cloudendure, RACEMI to migrate on premise servers/applications into AWS with exact as is solution in place. This we preferred when application has many dependencies and complete new build is a risky matter. But this approach gives us less opportunity of automation.
We build it, you own it. It’s that simple. Once we finish development, we pass over the complete source code so that your project is yours – no fees or strings attached. Whether you want to continue working with us for maintenance and updates, or take the project internal is up to you.
